I'm a freelance journalist and independent producer. I run Puerto Rico Sun Communications.
I'm a 2007 graduate of the Minority Writers Seminar for editorial and opinion writers, sponsored by the National Conference of Editorial Writers Foundation and held at the Freedom Forum in Nashville, Tennessee. I'm glad to be part of this community of opinionated people.

If a politician doesn't have time to serve, he or she should not hold an elected position. I am disgusted that a Bronx Latina is topping the list of City Council members who don't show up for meetings.

The Bronx NEEDS representation. We don't need a politician who doesn't show up to work.

I'm Glad Rat Mural is Gone

While I believe Tats Cru has done a wonderful job decorating walls in the Bronx and other parts of the city and I have often photographed their artwork, I am glad the city has removed their "Stop Snitchin' "mural from an East Harlem bodega wall. I applaud city officials for taking action and removing this mural that promotes violence.

The Bronx is Booming for Some

I'm so sick of hearing how the Bronx is booming when it is still considered the poorest urban county in the United States.

Yes, it is better than it was back in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. But the Bronx would be really booming if the people who lived here were also booming with better salaries and better living and working conditions.
