Abuse no dog should experience.
Watching Larry King tonight- 8-17-09- The first segment about Michael Vick being reinstated by the NFL inspired this post.
Animal abuse- torturing helpless, vulerable, innocent dogs. What bullying behavior, What cowardice- Michael Vick is a punk. What a sad, sad state of affairs. What humiliation Michael Vick should feel. Only he knows if he does feel intense humiliation. The kind of humiliation he should feel would make his self- esteem so low he could not muster the confidence to play in the NFL.
Now a case could be made that his self-esteem must have been so- low to begin with or else he would have never been involved in such consistent abusive behavior.
That he acted so confident in spite of this horrid behavior, goes toward sociopathy - However, this nation-(and others)- promotes sociopathy- Sociopathy is promoted in business- banking-real estate- and so on. But when one's horrid behaivor is isolated and described in such detail as is the case with Vick, it is hard to analyze and attempt to find contributing cultural factors, in order to mullify or mitigate; although there are many.
Culture as in Bull fighting in Spain? There are arguments to be made here. I could imagine many arguments and I would even know how to structure them, if I was so inclined, but I am not!
This type of behavior not only enrages me, it sickens me. It can not be tolerated!
Any vulnerable creatures : human, animal, all creatures- none should ever be abused. But abuse continues.
In order for the millions of people who act so carelessly,so abusively toward others- as in bankers, real -estate financers, animal abusers, etc. I think it would take an enormous amount of internalized suffering for redemtion to occur in people who are inclined to act this way.
In regard to the more subtle and hidden forms of pervasive abuse as in business, the chance for redemption here is next to impossible as very few people would even be capable of recognizing the abuse in these cases. The abuse that occurs within Capitalism could be articulated as -" Abuse beyond recognition."
The disregard for life- for others- for the innate spirit in all- [that is the part of all that is more than physical-] This disregard is rampant as it is many times rewarded as in yielding huge profits- Therefore the abusive behaviors humans inflict upon each other is often conditioned as in conditioned behavior.
The conditions that make possible this conditioning, as in pavlov's dogs, must be eradicated from the face of the earth.
Capitalism and all its manifestations is devious, distructive, exploitative, abusive, clever, beguiling, hidden, sinister, utilizes ideals in order to present the opposite of how it actually behaves. Democracy is the perfect ideal set to cover or cloak Capitalism- The strength of democracy is that it offers the illusion of freedom- which renders freedom that much harder to realize.
So the sadistic, horrible, disgusting, sick behavior that Michael Vick perpetrated should not be tolerated. This is clear. Now the sick behavior that runs rampant in the effort to garner profit- the effort to exploit, also should not be tolerated - but is is much too hidden to easily apprehend.
The effort to dehumanize people, as is the case in a capitalistic economic system -no "dog" should ever experience such abuse.
